Applications for Bordeaux Montaigne University's International Summer School are open!

We are delighted to announce the opening of Bordeaux Montaigne University’s International Summer School, from June 22 to July 3, 2026.

During these two intensive weeks, international students will follow English-taught academic courses on French culture, geography, history, gender and literature, alongside French language courses at our Department of French as a Second Language (DEFLE). A regional focus will be given to the different aspects and topics approached in class.

The programme also includes cultural and social activities such as museum visits (Musée d’Aquitaine, Cité du Vin, Bassin des Lumières as an example), a wine-tasting or culinary workshop, a sport session, activities with local students and a field-trip to the beautiful Arcachon Bay. A good command of English is required (B1) to follow academic courses but when it comes to French language courses, all levels are welcome, even total beginners! 

UBM’s International Summer School is ideal not only for French-learning students but also for any international students interested in discovering French culture and language, while benefiting from an exciting and immersive programme in the vibrant city of Bordeaux. At the end of the Summer School, participants will receive a certificate of participation and 3 ECTS credits (attendence is mandatory). 

** Participation fees **

1700EUR for students coming from partner universities
2200EUR for students coming from non-partner universities
The fees include:

The participation to academic and language courses for two weeks
The course material
The accommodation for 13 nights (from June 21 to July 4, 2026)
Lunch at the university cafeteria
The welcome and farewell ceremony
All the visits and entrances to museums and activities planned in the programme
A field-trip to the Arcachon Bay
A 2-week-ticket of transportation in Bordeaux and its surroundings area.
